Description

The contract provides early intervention & prevention of person centred, needs led support, contributing to improving the understanding of autism, provision of support strategies & information to improve quality of life. These in turn generate positive experiences that reduce the risk of crisis for the autistic young person & their family & prevent the escalation into adulthood where the impact on education, employment & social care are evident. The maximum annual budget available is a maximum of £102,000

Total Quantity or Scope

Autism support equip parents and family members with specific knowledge and skills, so they can better support children & young people at home and in the community, providing a tangible benefit to the whole family. The service offers one to one support for the family and individual child/young person encouraging self-awareness and improving self-management skills. The beneficiaries of the universal support service in Shropshire, part of the Early Help offer, are parents, carers & families of children and young people with autistic traits or a diagnosis of autism aged 0-18, a formal diagnosis for autism is not required as it is a non-statutory service. The service extends to provide training & signposting for professionals who support families in the community. The contract provides early intervention & prevention of person centred, needs led support, contributing to improving the understanding of autism, provision of support strategies & information to improve quality of life. These in turn generate positive experiences that reduce the risk of crisis for the autistic young person & their family & prevent the escalation into adulthood where the impact on education, employment & social care are evident. The maximum annual budget available is a maximum of £102 ,000 The contract aims are to: Equip parents and other family members with specific knowledge and skills, so they can better support the CYP at home/in the community, providing a tangible benefit to the family as a whole. Equip CYP with autism with specific knowledge and skills, so they can become more self-aware and improve their self-management skills. Equip professionals with specific knowledge and skills, so that they can provide better services for families. Professionals include social care, health, educational and VCS workers. General awareness raising of autism and ADHD with families and professionals supporting CYP (complementary/co-ordinated with the ICB commissioned activities relating to the CAMHS transformation. Contribution to local strategic/special interest groups Support at least 400 unique families per year, through direct work with parents and children, acknowledging that most families access different elements of the service at different times, & at least 100 professionals per year.
