Description

Provision and delivery of the specialist consultant-led integrated sexual health service (ISHS) that local authorities are responsible for commissioning, including testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, the provision of HIV PrEP and provision of the full range of contraception services tailored to meet the needs of our population at all stages across the life course. A central aim of the service will be to reduce inequalities in sexual health outcomes, achieved by delivering services to the general population with a specific focus on those groups where the burden of sexual ill health is recognised to be greater. The service will support delivery against the five main national sexual health Public Health Outcomes Frameworks measures: • under 18 conceptions; • chlamydia detection rate; • new STIs diagnosis (excluding chlamydia in the under 25s); • prescribing of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) excluding injections (females aged 15 to 44). • people presenting with HIV at a late stage of infection The service will also contribute to the ambitions of the Derby and Derbyshire Sexual Health Alliance and locally identified service outcomes

Total Quantity or Scope

This contract is to be awarded to the existing provider following direct award process C under Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The lifetime value of the contract is £15,870,000.00. The contract is due to begin on 01/04/2025 and initial term will end on 31/03/2028. There will be the option to extend by annual increments to 31/03/2030.

Asked ourselves - what do we want from our service? individually, using online whiteboard noted all of the things that we wanted to see in the service and what is important to us. GROUPING OF IDEAS: through colour coding, we grouped together the sticky notes of a similar theme, using loose headings e.g. access and choice, workforce development, engagement and collaboration etc. KEY CRITERIA: using the headings of each key criteria, we discussed where each grouping/statement fit best. WEIGHTING: discussed which criteria was the most/least important. Increased weighting for the area we felt was the most important overall, decreased the weighting for the least. The remaining weighting was then shared equally between the other 3 areas
