Description
This notice announces the award of a one year contract for the provision of "Maintenance and Calibration Services for RAF Police Evidential Breathalysers".
Total Quantity or Scope
The Authority has a requirement to award a one year contract for the Provision of "Maintenance and Calibration Services for RAF Police Evidential Breathalysers". This will involve maintenance and calibration of existing in-service intoximeters, in accordance with endorsed specifications provided by the Home Office for evidential collection. The maintenance, servicing and associated support packages are to include the provision of consumables and 'call out' repairs of equipment, as and when required.

Legal Justification
The value of the requirement is under the current PCR 2015 threshold for central government bodies. The supplier are the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Home Office approved supplier for the current Evidential Breath Alcohol Instrument, and are currently working towards type approval for the next generation instrument. On expiry of the support contract for the current equipment (31/10/2025) there will be a need for continued calibration and maintenance service support for the existing equipment from the OEM, until the next generation instrument is available to the market. The supplier has a legal obligation to retain Type Approved status of the existing intoximeters as directed by the Home Office under the Breath Alcohol Screening Devices publication Version 1.0 dated 30 Jun 04, and any subsequent revisions of this document.
