Description

The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for satellite communication services to allow for internet connections onboard the RRS Sir David Attenborough as well as the research stations. This is a split requirement, 1 lot within the procurement will be for a Geostationary Earth Orbit satellite connection (GEO) and the other lot is for a Low Earth Orbit connection (LEO).

** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** Lot 1 of this procurement, the Geostationary Earth Orbit connection, will potentially include a refresh of our existing hardware, however BAS is unsure of the extent of how much equipment, if any, will need to be replaced. Potential bidders are to access the equipment list through the e-sourcing platform, and confirm if their services will work with our existing equipment, or if it needs replacing. The deadline for this request for information exercise is the 16th of December 2024. The information gathered from this exercise will be used for the upcoming tender, due to go live towards the end of December or the beginning of January.
