The service provides a comprehensive Oral Surgery Specialist Service through Specialist Surgeons listed on the General Dental Council Register for Oral Surgery. The purpose of the service is to: • increase the number of people being treated within primary care environment • reduce waiting times of Oral surgery dento-alveolar procedures • increase access to minor oral surgery on the NHS • provide more cost-effective service through provision in primary care
Total Quantity or Scope
This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. The service will provide a comprehensive Oral Surgery Specialist Service through Specialist Surgeons listed on the General Dental Council Register for Oral Surgery. … • reduce waiting times of Oral surgery dento-alveolar procedures, including third molar surgery, removal of buried roots and apicectomy associated procedures. … The service will be provided from 06 December 2024 until 31 March 2026 And remunerated as a fee of £1800 per session for 7 sessions per month limited to a maximum of 8 sessions, unless otherwise agreed. The overall estimated value is £332,900.

An administrative error (from the previous provider) resulted in the dissolution of the company providing the Tier 2 Oral Surgery Service in Devon, this dissolution of the company (albeit in error) lead to the sudden termination of the existing agreement which was contracted until 31 March 2026.

An administrative error (from the previous provider) resulted in the dissolution of the company providing the Tier 2 Oral Surgery Service in Devon, this dissolution of the company (albeit in error) lead to the sudden termination of the existing agreement which was contracted until 31 March 2026. The existing agreement was the only provision within primary care of Tier 2 Oral Surgery in Devon and the termination led to a gap in provision form Patients There were no concerns to patient care provided as part of this service and there is a significant number of patients on the waiting list awaiting treatment. There is a procurement exercise scheduled to take place in 2025 - 2026 to procure Tier 2 Oral Surgery services across Devon from 1 April 2026. This service will run for 16 months (06 December 2024- 31 March 2026), terminating when the procured Tier 2 services are expected to commence The decision maker for this urgent award was the Senior Commissioning Manager for Devon ICB. No Conflicts of interests were identified during this process This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) confirmation of contract award notice.
