** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. This is an Urgent Award due to severe capacity issues in the service resulting from a combination of CDC activity not commencing as expected and one consultant and two other staff vacancies that the Trust has been unable to fill and a loss of locum cover. These significant capacity shortfalls within the Ophthalmology service at NLAG mean there is an urgent need to facilitate additional new outpatient capacity to address immediate risks to safety and quality of care. The contract award decision was made by the Deputy Director and Associate Director of Finance. No conflicts of interest were identified.
