Total Quantity or Scope

A specialist integrated sexual health service (ISHS) to provide service users with open access to confidential, non-judgemental services including sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBV) testing (including HIV), treatment and management; HIV prevention including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP); the full range of contraceptive provision; health promotion and prevention including relevant vaccination. We intend to award a contract to the existing provider following Direct Award Process C. The approximate lifetime value of the contract is £8,752,842. Services will be delivered from 1/4/2025 for a period of 48 months with options to extend for a further 2 x 12 months

This criteria is reflective of the Council's wider agenda and policies. Value:The contract currently benefits from economies of scale; sharing the same provider with South Tyneside Council, resulting in some shared staffing. The integration of health and social care services is a key driver in the Council and ICB's approach to health. Service collaboration alongside collaboration with voluntary and community sector partners in terms of service design is a frequent finding and recommendation in health research. This criteria is reflective of the Council's wider agenda and policies. Reducing health inequalities is a key driver in the Council's Thrive agenda, underpinning our Corporate Plan and the Health and Wellbeing Strategy. The provider is already delivering the contract so social value is already present. The provider was evaluated in accordance with the key criteria identified and scored above the threshold as set by the contracting authority. No conflicts of interest were identified.
