Description

Public Health England (PHE) is seeking to purchase a cryogenic grinding mill to support a project looking at the toxicity of microplastics from oral exposure for its Centre for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards (CRCE) at Chilton. The requirement must meet the following mandatory specifications: - The instrument must be capable of dry, wet and cryogenic grinding - The instrument should be able to alter the frequency and time of grinding - Grinding frequency: The instrument can range from 3-35Hz - Grinding time: The instrument can range from 10s - 8 hours - The instrument should be able to produce micro- and nano- sized particles. - Grinding tools and containers should be made from stainless steel - Grinding balls for cryogenic milling should be made from stainless steel - Dimensions: 690 x 375 x 585 mm (while closed) - Two grinding stations
