Description

A requirement for a shallow water oil containment recovery system to collect and separate high viscosity oil in a marine environment in harbours and shallow sea areas.

Total Quantity or Scope

The UK is part of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and has an obligation to protect and preserve the marine environment. The MCA acting as the Executive Agency for the UK is responsible for the environmental safety of the UK coast and waters. The CB2 will add further resilience to the UK Tier 3 national capability and is very important to the overall response of the MCA in dealing with pollution incidents when they occur in shallow water areas including harbours.
