Description

The Council wishes to establish a contract with an innovative service provider to provide a weed control solution to highway kerbs, channels and hard surfaced areas within the urban environment, semi-rural areas and rural areas of the Kirklees area (the "Solution"). The object of the contract shall be the maintenance of highways in such a manner as to assist road safety whilst maintaining and enhancing amenity and ecological value. This contract applies to areas of adopted highway within the Borough of Kirklees.

Total Quantity or Scope

The Council wishes to establish a contract with an innovative service provider to provide a weed control solution to highway kerbs, channels and hard surfaced areas within the urban environment, semi-rural areas and rural areas of the Kirklees area (the "Solution"). The object of the contract shall be the maintenance of highways in such a manner as to assist road safety whilst maintaining and enhancing amenity and ecological value. This contract applies to areas of adopted highway within the Borough of Kirklees. The Contract shall be for an initial period of 2 years with the provision to extend for a further year.

Other Information

The dates of the Contract are anticipated to be 29th March 2021 until 28th March 2023 with an option to extend for a further twelve months. The Contracting Authority considers that this Contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises ('SMEs'). However, any selection of economic operators will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the Contract will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender on the basis of the award criteria within the procurement documents.
