Description

As a part of a start-up package, Newcastle University has secured UKRI funding to purchase a transfer machine to fabricate samples, so-called van der Waals heterostructures, out of two-dimensional (2D) materials including graphene, boron nitride, transition metal dichalcogenides, perovskites and others. The machine will be set up in the Herschel Annex in the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics within the Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering. • To search for and select 2D materials of the required thickness, size and shape on various substrates. • To fabricate van der Waals heterostructures made out of 2D materials for optics and electronics applications by stacking the materials on top of each other in a Lego style in a controlled way. The scope of this contract is for the supply, delivery and help in installation of the equipment as detailed in the ITT to the University, with after-sales support and 12 months warranty and maintenance.
