Description

The named Academic Partners of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) require a contractor(s) to provide wood fuel to their various campus locations for the provision of heat from biomass boiler source. Their is a Lotted requirement for Wood pellet and wood chip provision. The named Partners of the University of the Highlands and Islands require to set up a contract(s) for the provision of biomass fuel. The requirement is split into 2 Lots, based on the fuel type, as follows: Lot 1: Wood Pellet, Lot 2: Wood Chip. Suppliers can bid on one or two of the lots but note that all named academic partners within each lot must be provided for. For the avoidance of doubt the following details a breakdown of the Partners by lot: Lot 1: North Highland College UHI, Scottish Association for Marine Science UHI and West Highland College UHI (Portree campus); Lot 2: West Highland College UHI (Fort William campus).

NB: For this procurement it is a mandatory requirement, for both lots, that bidders are an approved UK Biomass Supplier List (BSL) provider. Your supplier BSL Authorisation number is required to be provided within the technical response form so that checks can be carried out on supplier registrations. The BSL supplier list is open for applications from all UK and EU providers, please see this link for further information: https://biomass-suppliers-list.service.gov.uk/home All tenderers are required to: — complete and return the ESPD document as part of the tender; — complete a sub-contractor ESPD for any intended sub-contracts to be used in the delivery of goods/services, to be returned as part of the tender; — provide audited financial accounts including profit and loss statements or equivalent in the ESPD for the last 2 financial years. Tenderers who are unable to provide the required accounting information – e.g. a new business without the required accounts, please provide a banker’s letter demonstrating their willingness to support your organisation over the term of the Contract. It is a requirement of this procurement that bidders hold, or can commit to obtain prior to the commencement of any subsequently awarded contract, the types and levels of insurance indicated below: — employers liability insurance GBP 5 million; — public liability insurance GBP 5 million; — products liability insurance GBP 5 million. Information provided for ESPD Part III and IV will be assessed on a Pass/Fail basis, where: Pass = meets requirements as stated in contract notice. Fail = does not meet requirements as stated in contract notice.
