Description
This framework is to appoint a single contractor to deliver engineering inspections for Durham County Council in line with statutory requirements. This contract will cover the provision of engineering inspections for plant and equipment to ensure compliance with current regulations, This contract includes a requirement for an initial audit of properties and equipment to enable the creation of an accurate asset database to facilitate the contract and effective maintenance. The contract is to cover a wide and diverse range of properties, including office accommodation, public buildings, educational establishments, leisure facilities, fire and rescue stations and domestic properties of vulnerable people.
Total Quantity or Scope
The main four service areas (this also has sub areas within the service areas) include: Area 1 Fleet: vehicles and workshop equipment under the regeneration and local services grouping of the Council; Area 2: Personal equipment — for example slings, hoists harnesses to name a few under Children and Young People Services (CYPS) and Adult and Health Services (AHS) service grouping of the Council; Area 3: Building and facilities management – fixed building and equipment under the Regeneration and Local Services Grouping of the Council; Area 4: Other areas for example school equipment. The Council reserves the right to add additional areas on throughout the duration of the contract including any extensions taken. It is the successful contractor’s responsibility to provide a live inventory of equipment at each establishment for this contract, ongoing throughout the duration and before the expiry of the contract. It is expected that all establishments will have had the relevant inspections on site and be suitably equipped, reports and updates for each individual establishment must be continuously updated and forwarded to the allocated officers of Durham County Council as changes or amendments are made. Current status meetings will form part of this monitoring process.
