Description

The University of Plymouth are looking for potential suppliers who can offer the services as set out below. At this current time this is just a potential opportunity so no further information is available. The provision of Patent, Trademark and Intellectual Property Rights services as required by participating consortia members in England, Wales and Scotland and Northern Ireland which will also include renewal services for trademarks, patents and designs. Intellectual Property Rights Services are defined as Legal Advice, guidance, pre-filling of searches, development of protection strategy, and licensing and registration services on all matters relating to the creation, development and protection of patents, trademarks, copyright, design rights and trade secrets, and intellectual property rights. It does not include commercialisation and design exploitation services. Trademark Services will require registering or renewing in the UK and a base location, countries operating in the Madrid Protocol (MP) and Community Trade Mark (CTM) systems as well as national applications in the rest of the world as required by member institutions. Patents will require registering under the International Patent System (PCT) or as directed by the member institution which may include the appointment of specialist patent attorneys in other countries to seek appropriate registration.

The patent agents will work with and take instructions from the IP Managers and we are looking for expertise in one or more of the following specific areas: biomedical and health, engineering, robotics, electronic engineering and software engineering. The patent agents must be able to travel down to Plymouth to meet and work with the IP Managers and Academic staff as and when appropriate.
