Description

Repair and maintenance services of ships. Repair and maintenance services of warships. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) Naval Ships Support (NSS) Team manages the in-service support of the Royal Navy Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs). The NSS team has a potential future requirement to provide the in-service support for up to 3 River Class Batch 1 OPVs and up to 5 Batch 2 OPVs. The Contracting Authority will look to best utilise learning from experience whilst ensuring competition and value for money are achieved. The successful bidder will be required to support all requirements under the contract throughout the planned contract duration. The support activities will include but are not limited to: planning for and execution of global repair and maintenance; engineering support, planned preventative and corrective maintenance, Operational Defect rectification; obsolescence management; stores management; logistic support; risk management; and post design services; to pre-determined availability requirements. In issuing this PIN, the MOD is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the strategy stated in this PIN. The MOD reserves the right to alter the approach to this project prior to commencing any formal procurement. Any related future procurement activity will be subject to the DSPCR 2011. Equally, non-participation in this Market Engagement will not be taken into account in any future procurement activities and will not preclude any organisation from submitting a tender in any future competition.
