Description
The Council operates a highways fleet consisting of 280 various types of vehicle from small panel vans up to 28 tonne gritters/tippers. The majority of this fleet was procured in or around 2012. Many of the vehicles are now coming to the end of their economically viable life. This framework is to allow the Council to implement a fleet replacement programme over the next 4 years.The goods have been divided into the following vehicle types (Lots): • Lot 1: Multi-purpose chassis and bodies; • Lot 2: Agricultural Loadalls; • Lot 3: MWEPS; • Lot 4: Tractor Excavators; • Lot 5: 3.5 tonne Crew Cab Pickups; • Lot 6: Small Crew Vans; • Lot 7: 1.5 t Pickup. It is anticipated that a single supplier will be appointed to lot 1 and up to six suppliers will be appointed to each of the remaining lots (Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7).

Suppliers should be aware that the Council are seeking single suppliers to submit quotations for all aspects of the lot that includes the vehicle/chassis that is suitable to work with particular demount body installations. The overall price should include the vehicle chassis the bodies and all necessary ancillary works to ensure the Council end up with a complete vehicle package. It is anticipated that a single supplier will be appointed to Lot 1. |
