UU’s ambition is to drive digital transformation, Systems Thinking and improved service for our stakeholders, customer and community by development of our advanced analytics and information management capabilities, using data tools and skills to deliver ethical insight and competitive advantage. With increasing complexity and variety of data available and rapid technological development of sensor and data technology, we need to facilitate the processing and analysis of more data in more complex forms. By design, our data and analytics platform must deliver data and analytics democratisation as self-service is a key strategic objective. We also need to create the ability to operate at both laboratory and factory scale to facilitate exploration and innovation to support our longer- term strategic aims. Lot Division

1 Pan-UU platform for Monitoring & Control, Analytics, Visualisation and Optimisation (from here on referred to as the Athena Platform)
  • Value: £20M

To complete a research and development phase for a solution, that is built upon an MS Azure platform, which will create a development and production scale analytics capabilities. Scale to meet current and future requirements in both scale & complexity. Utilise and integrate where possible with existing systems and data sources. The overall outcome will be for UU to achieve a Level 4 Systems Thinking approach. Additional information: There is recognition that the overall solution that will combine the outputs of Lot 1 and Lot 2 may have requirements that are across both lots

2 Sensory Capability Stack
  • Value: £250M

Research and develop a production ready solution for the following elements • Collect data from our assets, third party assets and the environment. • Real time transfer of that data to a central location. • Application of descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analytics to identify any deviations in the system that are likely to result in a loss of volume the network. Additional information: There is recognition that the overall solution that will combine the outputs of Lot 1 and Lot 2 may have requirements that are across both lots
