Legal Justification
The need for a contract modification has been brought about by the circumstances of Covid-19 which have meant resources in the contracting authority have been redirected to support health and social care activities, including but not limited to the provision of Covid-19 testing capability across N Ireland. As a result, scheduled re-tendering activity was delayed whilst resources responded to manage Covid-19 activities. The scale and impact of Covid-19 and uncertain duration could not have been foreseen by the contracting authority.
Other Information
The mandatory Standstill period of 10 days will apply. Modifications to contract will not come in to force until after midnight on Saturday 19th February 2022.
