Description

BCP Council is seeking an experienced café/restaurant Operator for the catering concession at Hamworthy Park, Hamworthy. The Council is looking for a Bidder who is already running a café/restaurant or a Bidder who has operated one in the past. The Council is seeking prospective Operators who wish to support visitor needs by providing them with a quality catering and refreshment offer, from the existing café building. The successful Operator is required to manage and carry out all operational aspects of the café including, but not limited to, staff welfare, employment legislation, training, certification and illness. Owned by BCP Council, the café building is single storey and has been recently decorated both internally and externally. One part of it comprises of the public conveniences, and the other part is the cafe area. The café has limited storage internally. Additional storage has been available from a container situated at the rear of the building. This will require planning permission, if required, and will be subject to planning approvals which will be for the Operator to obtain. The location of the concession is Hamworthy Park, Lulworth Avenue, Poole BH15 4DH. The anticipated start date of the contract would be 1 March 2022. The contract will be for an initial 5-year lease until 28 February 2027 with an option to extend for an additional 2 years up to 28 February 2029 if both parties are in agreement. There is currently an catering operation at the site. It is the responsibility of Bidders to consider the effect and applicability of the Transfer of Undertakings - Protection of Employment (TUPE) to the facts and circumstances of this procurement and to act accordingly. Unless this procurement affects employees of the Council, the Council will not give any opinion on the applicability or effect of TUPE and you should take your own legal and any other professional advice to satisfy yourselves regarding the likelihood of TUPE applying to any employee as defined by TUPE and in no circumstances shall the Council incur any liability in relation to any TUPE issues except as required by law As part of the Bid, organisations will need to confirm how much they are offering the council for the concession.
