Description
Network Rail is currently delivering Rail Skills Training from training centres nationwide as well as from depots and DU’s, and external sites. In line with the recent regionalisation of the railways, Network Rail is also moving to a regional delivery model for Rail Skills training. The five regions of Network Rail are: Eastern Region North West & Central Scotland’s Railway Southern Wales & Western The eight lots to which training will be required for are: - Lot 1: First Aid & Manual Handling Lot 2: Lineside Management Lot 3: Rail Plant Lot 4: SMTH/Signalling Lot 5: Track Safety Lot 6: Transportable, Portable Mobile Plant Lot 7: Working at Heights Lot 8: Health, Safety & Sustainability
Lot Division
2 | Lineside/Vegetation Management
Delivery of a range of Lineside and Vegetation Management Training, to include: - Aerial tree activities - Chainsaw competency courses - Equipment and machinery - Felling and processing trees - Woodland and forestry management - Ground-based tree work - Refresher training (as advocated by the HSE) Please refer to the scope for the full list of courses. |
3 | Rail Plant
To deliver a range of Rail Plant training services (please refer to the scope for the full list of courses) to NR employees. Trainers should have a thorough understanding of the Rail Industry Standard for Technical Requirements for On Track Plant and their Associated Equipment and Trolleys |
4 | SMTH/Signalling
Deliver a range of training courses (please refer to the scope for the full list of courses) to NR employees for attainment of critical signal engineering competencies to enable effective maintenance on the railway. |
5 | Track Safety
Deliver a range of training courses (please refer to the scope for the full list of courses) to NR employees for attainment of critical track safety competencies to enable effective maintenance on the railway. |
6 | Transportable, Portable and Mobile Plant (PTMP)
Deliver a range of training courses (please refer to the scope for the full list of courses) to NR employees for attainment of critical On-Track Plant and Machine/Crane Controller competencies to enable effective maintenance on the railway. |
7 | Working at Height
Deliver a range of training courses (please refer to the scope for the full list of courses) to NR employees in compliance with Work at Height Regulations 2005 (WAHR). |
8 | Health, Safety & Sustainability
Deliver a range of Health, Safety & Sustainability training courses (please refer to the scope for the full list of courses) to NR employees to meet customer needs . |
8 | First Aid and Manual Handling
To deliver a range of First Aid and Manual Handling training services (please refer to the scope for the full list of courses) to NR employees ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (MHOR) 1992 |
