Description
The SBDC requires the update of mass spectrometry, chromatography, sample preparation automation and associated equipment and software in a manner compatible with the existing infrastructure.
Total Quantity or Scope
The Stoller Biomarker Discovery Centre (SBDC) was opened in 2016 as a result of funding by a philanthropic gift from the Stoller Charitable Trust, the Medical Research Council (MRC) and in partnership with SCIEX, to help to industrialise the process of identifying biomarkers. The Centre was stocked with a large suite of high-end SCIEX mass spectrometers, including TripleTOF® 6600 Systems and QTRAP® 6500+ Systems and associated equipment for clinical proteomics and metabolomics applications. The Centre works to a quality system and has a dedicated IT infrastructure for the management and assessment of the data produced. We are now looking to update the mass spectrometry, chromatography and sample preparation equipment to allow for the relocation of the Centre to a new location with a smaller footprint whilst maintaining the function and infrastructure as much as possible.

Legal Justification
• absence of competition for technical reasons Explanation: The SBDC was created in partnership with SCIEX and substantial work has been done to configure custom workflows and software tools with the equipment in SBDC. We have very short timeframes for this work and all equipment must be on-site and functioning by the end of July 2022. Hardware and software must therefore be compatible with existing SCIEX technologies.
