Description

Forest Management Operations: Management of the planting programme including the maintenance operations required to establish sites (operations listed below), excluding fencing, deer management and ground preparation. Rapid restocking can minimise weed growth (and hence herbicide use) and loss of nutrients and sediment from sites and may be needed to help improve forest structure. Invasive Vegetation Control: Management of all types of vegetation (woody or herbaceous) that is deemed an invasive species on the designated or conservation site which are outside of the establishment operations. Woody species include all tree species and shrubs such as Hemlock, Rhododendron and Gaultheria. Herbaceous species include all specified noxious weeds such as Japanese knotweed and shall include other species such as Gunnera, Balsam and Hypericum. Control of all Invasive vegetation will require a variety of techniques, including stem injection, cutting and spraying to ensure that the plants are controlled to an effective level. There is no mulching or similar operation which require excavators or heavy plant machinery under these Contracts. Notes for II.1.6 - If a Bidder is awarded multiple Contracts, they will be required to deliver the Services simultaneously across all of the Contracts awarded to them. - You should only bid for Lots that you are willing to enter into Contract. - For Lots 1 to 23 (FM): A Bidder may bid for and be awarded up to six of the 23 Lots. Bids for Lots exceeding this limit will be rejected and not evaluated. - For Lots 24 to 30 (IVC), A Bidder may bid for and be awarded up to four of the seven Lots. Bids for Lots exceeding this limit will be rejected and not evaluated. - Therefore you may bid for a maximum of 10 Lots subject to the above. - Where a Bidder exceeds the limits set above, FLS will ask (through message in PCS-Tender) the Bidder to select which are to be removed, if no response is received within five working days, the Lots listed by their highest Lot reference number shall be removed, ie, if Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are bid for, then FLS shall exclude Lots 7 and 8. >> >> A non-mandatory session for bidders has been arranged for the 5th April 2022 at 10:30am to 12:00pm BST. see this page for more details https://www.sdpscotland.co.uk/events/talking-tenders-with-forestry-and-land-scot...
