Description
With co-funding from the European Regional Development Fund, the University of Sheffield has established a flagship Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC) – a national multi-technology, integrated platform for research, development and innovation at pilot-scale, to understand and demonstrate green energy solutions for a sustainable, affordable and secure energy system. It is one of the largest and best-equipped research and development facilities in Europe for zero-carbon energy, hydrogen, bioenergy, combustion and carbon capture with storage/utilisation. TERC is looking to further expand its current capabilities and equipment portfolio in this area. We are therefore looking to procure two lots: LOT 1: Retrofitting a hydrogen-fired combustor for conversion of a gas turbine LOT 2: Fuel handling and mixing skid, with feeding system
Lot Division
1 | Retrofitting a hydrogen-fired combustor for conversion of a gas turbine
Lot 1: Retrofitting a hydrogen-fired combustor for conversion of a gas turbine • design and build of the hydrogen-fired burner • retro-fitting of the combustor and integration into the existing AE-T100 mGT • incorporation of temperature monitoring • modifications to the fuel system • modifications to the software and control system for the new burner and fuel block • any changes to the compressor and turbine maps, as necessary • modifications to the fuel control system (to accommodate Lot 2) – including the fuel compressor and skid controls/monitoring |
2 | Fuel handling and mixing skid with feeding system
Lot 2: Fuel handling and mixing skid with feeding system • design and build of the gas mixing skid, including fuel handling and delivery system • full mechanical and electrical installation, including: rerouting the natural gas from the AE-T100 fuel compressor to the skid hydrogen connection with the site supply connect the skid outlet to the AE-T100 fuel system connect the skid controls/PLC to the AE-T100 system connect the power from the AE-T100 or the site DB |
