The procurement is broken down into 8 Lots and suppliers may bid for all or any Lots. The University of St Andrews may award no, all or any part of any Lot. Lots are as follows: Lot 1 - Screen Printer Lot 2 - Belt Oven Lot 3 - Particle Size Analyser Lot 4 - Rheometer Lot 5 - Scanning Electron Microscope Lot 6 - Triple Roller Mill Lot 7 - Laser Cutter Lot 8 - Metal 3D Printer
Lot Division
| Screen Printer Screen Printer We require a screen printer system capable of printing on ceramic / metallic substrates with a high degree of control. The primary purposes of this instrument are: Electrode/electrolyte printing onto ceramic substrates for solid oxide fuel cell applications |
| Belt Oven Belt Oven We require a belt oven system capable of working with ceramic substrates with a high degree of control. The primary purposes of this instrument are: Drying thick-film layers of ceramic (deposited by screen printing) onto metallic / ceramic substrates for solid oxide fuel cell applications |
| Particle Size Analyser Particle Size Analyser We require a particle size analyser for size range 0.01 - 3500 microns. |
| Rheometer Rheometer We desire an instrument capable of measuring the way in which slurries flow in response to applied forces. |
| Scanning Electron Microscope Scanning Electron Microscope We require a SEM capable for electron and Energy-dispersive X-ray analyses that balances high throughputs with high performance. Ideally, we would like a desktop instrument which can be easily used with minimal training. |
| Triple Roller Mill Triple Roller Mill We require a triple roller mill that is compact, easy to keep clean preventing cross contamination and suitable for research needs working with ceramic materials. |
| Laser Cutter Laser Cutter Required components: - Capable of cutting plastic, metal and ceramic at least 1-2 mm thick. - Both honeycomb and knife blade supports. |
| Metal 3D Printer Metal 3D printer We require a metal 3D printer that that prints metal powder bound in a plastic matrix that is reliable, fast and easy to use. Required components: - Printing area at least 200 x 200 mm. - Compatible with standard UK power 240 V. - Tool Steel and changeover between materials should be easy and quick. - Must have system that includes printing and ends with sintered body. - Must have multiple nozzles capable of depositing build and support materials for multi-body part modelling. |
