Description
Warwickshire County Council is a Waste Disposal Authority and was seeking to appoint a Supplier for the reprocessing of separately collected Food Waste. The Council may seek to take up (at their sole discretion), the option for collection and haulage of the separately collected food waste (from a local collection point to the delivery point) through this Contract at any point during its term. The estimated total value of the contract was up to £3,000,000 expenditure this was based on processing separately collected food waste arising in all five Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) in Warwickshire for the maximum number of years (10) and haulage from all five WCAs to the delivery point. The estimated value following the tender process is an income of £2,200,000.
Total Quantity or Scope
The successful Supplier will be given exclusivity to reprocess separately collected food waste collected by Warwick and Stratford District from August 2022 onwards; and from other Waste Collection Authorities in Warwickshire at any time during the Contract term as and when requested by the Council. The estimated total value of the Contract, including extensions, was an expenditure of up to £3,000,000. Please note that this value incorporates haulage (which is an option the Council may take up at any point during the Contract term), and incorporates all 5 Waste Collection Authorities (Stratford, Warwick, North Warwickshire, Rugby, and Nuneaton). There is a possibility of, but no guarantee, of all 5 WCA's accessing either re-processing and/or haulage, and the Contract is at present only exclusive to Stratford and Warwick. The actual figure depends on the factors outlined above, and actual tonnage sent for re-processing and is expected to be an income of £2,200,000.
