Description

"Industry wanting to operate a conventional amine-based post-combustion carbon capture (PCC) plant must apply for an environmental permit supported by an impact assessment of emissions to air. The purpose of the air emissions risk assessment is to provide evidence that the operation of the facility will not contribute to exceedances of any Environmental Standard (ES) set for the protection of human health or ecological sites. At the moment the available air emissions risk assessment techniques appear to be limited. We therefore wish to appoint a consultant to improve the current impact assessment methods to evaluate the environmental risk of amines and degradation products emitted to air from post-combustion carbon capture plants.
