Description
Network Rail is intending to seek supplier(s) for a programme of works in relation to the Redevelopment of Euston Conventional Station (RECS) and it is intended that this programme will be subject to one or more procurement events. Network Rail is currently working on its plans for this project, including developing its procurement strategy for RECS, as summarised in its outline business case, submitted to the Department of Transport in June 2022.
Total Quantity or Scope
Euston Station was designed over 50 years ago with assets at or approaching life expiry. Euston offers an opportunity to build a station that enhances the local area and better serves the community. The redeveloped Euston Station will be a vital interchange between important local, regional, and national transport routes. Reliable, efficient, connected transport links at Euston will bring people and businesses closer together. There is large potential economic benefit in redeveloping the conventional station in parallel with the second phase of HS2. This parallel development will help to minimise passenger disruption, and support a cohesive regeneration of the Euston area, resulting in socio-economic growth. As well as the redevelopment of the station building, the station also requires the relocation of some of Euston’s facilities (e.g. taxi rank, car park) which further increases passenger pressures and overcrowding. In due course, Network Rail intends to undertake one or more formal procurement events in relation to the works, goods and services required to deliver RECS.
