Description

This is not an opportunity, but a VEAT notice to inform the Market that Kent County Council is looking to extend the current contract for the Discharge to Assess Service. Hilton Nursing Partners Ltd deliver the contact, which is due to expire on 30th September 2022, as part of discharge pathway. The contract is awarded without prior publication on behalf of Kent County Council. The above-named council intends to extend the contract for a 12-month period, from 1st October 2022 – 30th September 2023, without a call for competition.

Total Quantity or Scope

Please see below for the justification for the urgent need to extend this contract in accordance with the regulatory conditions. The current hospital discharge service contract commissioned by Kent County Council encompasses the Discharge to Assess Service, which form part of Discharge Pathway 1 Service, for people discharged from hospital who need support to recover at home. The service is essential in ensuring that people can recover at home following discharge from hospital and be supported until further assessment can be undertaken if required, alleviating blockages in patient flow through the system and preventing unnecessary delayed discharges. This notice is to extend the current contract arrangement to the existing provider, Hilton Nursing Partners Ltd, from 1st October 2022 to 30th September 2024. It is the intention of the commissioning organisation to undertake a review of the model of services needed going forward and undertake a full procurement before the contract expires. The rationale for remaining with this provider for a further 12 months is so that there will be a continuation of service provision, with a provider who is currently providing a high quality and responsive service.
