Description
This contract will provide a service to store and protect our archive, whilst also enabling retrieval. The BBC's archive consists of approximately 10.2m archive assets made up of a number of distinct collections of which currently take up a total of 74,000 linear meterage of storage in temperature controlled vaults. Assets are stored by collection types, in temperature and humidity controlled vaults to ensure preservation and longevity. The requirement is defined into 2 main delivery areas that make up the Services: a) Implementation and provision of a Storage Facility / Facilities - the provision and management of a storage facility/facilities that is/are fully functional by 31st March 2023. Manage the migration of the Archive Collections from the existing archives to the new facility/facilities by 31st December 2023. b) Provision of Retrieval and Returns Services - in addition to managing the archive storage facility, the contract will have the provision of a Retrieval and Returns Service in which the Supplier will manage the movement of archive assets between BBC sites and the archive storage facility.

In the case of technology requirements, the BBC may involve its technology partner (Atos IT Solutions and Services Limited) to assist in the scoping and drafting of invitations to tender and/or the evaluation of tenders. However, the final decision as to which is the most economically advantageous (by reference to the award criteria) will be made by the BBC. The awarding authority reserves the right not to award a contract and to annul the procurement process at any stage. Tenders and all supporting documents must be priced in sterling and all payments will be made in sterling. The contract shall be subject to English law. The awarding authority does not bind itself to accept the lowest, or any tender and reserves the right to accept part of a tender unless the tenderer expressly stipulates otherwise in the tender document.
