Description

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ), (hereinafter called "the Authority") is inviting applicants to submit applications for multi-year grants (for the financial years 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2024/25) to support the delivery of the Government's priorities to see: - - Fewer women entering the justice system and reoffending - Fewer women serving short custodial sentences with a greater proportion managed successfully in the community - Better conditions that support rehabilitation for women in custody - Protecting the public through better outcomes for women on release. The funding is available for women's community sector organisations that support women in or at risk of contact with the criminal justice system. Wherever "women" is used in the documentation concerning this funding it should be read as meaning "women in or at risk of contact with the criminal justice system". The funding is not intended to be used to commission services but rather to cover core costs as defined. Your application for this Request for Proposal can only be used to cover core costs which are not part of or associated with the delivery of your services including contracted services through the Dynamic Framework. The core costs funding stream is designed to further improve the financial stabilisation of community-based provision for women across England and Wales. It builds on two earlier similar one-year funding competitions held in 2020/21 and 2021/22, which had a similar objective. Developing and stabilising women's community services has been recognised as a key factor to successful delivery of the Government's priorities because: women's community sector services deliver early intervention; they provide community solutions to tackling offending behaviour, offer holistic support for as long as it is required and engage with women often reluctant to work with statutory services; they support better custody through prison in-reach services and can support better resettlement outcomes for those released from custody.
