Description

Medway Council ("The Council") is a unitary authority based in Kent, undertaking all unitary authority duties and administration functions for the Medway towns, consisting of the main towns of Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham. In 2021, the Council worked alongside Uniotec to install 10 advanced road temperature sensors across two gritting routes in Medway as part of a pilot. The aim of this project is to cover the entire highway network, by adding an additional 34 advanced LoRaWAN road temperature sensors, covering all eight gritting routes. The Council will utilise our highway contractor, Volker Highways, to install the hardware. However, would kindly request that the chosen supplier oversee the installation process and verify that the devices are working correctly. The Council will expect the winning bidder to have a dashboard hub and all sensors will require annual hub device subscription licences. The Council would expect that the existing 10 units, from the initial pilot stage, are picked up within the same dashboard. The tended amount for this project should not exceed £16,000. The budget will cover all hardware costs, annual hub device subscription (for all devices), any LoRaWAN coverage mapping exercise(s) and a minimum of two days on-site installation support (inclusive of associated travel and accommodation costs).
