Legal Justification

The College is proposing to purchase the following items of equipment: 1. Festo CP Lab 400 Complete System including CP Lab 410-1 and CP Lab 404-1 2. Mechanical Trainers (specifically linked to (1) above) 3. User Licences (specifically linked to (1) above) 4. Smart Sensor Training Package (specifically linked to (1) above) The items of equipment are manufacturer-specific and are required by the College to train its students and apprentices in the use and maintenance of this specific equipment. This equipment is used by the local employers whose students and apprentices attend training courses at the College. The proposed system to be purchased links to existing equipment installed in the College for training purposes that was selected following a competitive tender at the time of its purchase. The College is not aware of any other company capable of supplying this specific equipment. The supplier with whom the College intends to place the order has stated that it is the only official/accredited partner in the UK & Ireland for the specific equipment being purchased. The College intends to award a supply contract to Didactic Services Ltd on Tuesday 7th February 2023 , if it is not contacted by any company which can demonstrate its ability to supply the specific equipment required.
