Description

This tender is for the refurbishment of Isle of May Beacon, a property owned by the NLB consisting of lighthouse and associated buildings on the Isle of May, Firth of Forth, latitude and longitude 56.1833° N, 2.5667° W. The beacon was built in 1636 and consists of random rubble walls covered with a lime wash harling. The lighthouse and The Beacon (former Lighthouse) are both category B listed. Maintenance work required consists of applying Corisilk lime paint to external walls, re-paint window frame and general maintenance repairs. Key Dates, to be confirmed, are site set-up and mobilisation from 29th August 2023 with completion and site clearance by 31st October 2023. The beacon can only be accessed from mid-February to mid-April and from end of August to end of October. The site is boat access only. A site visit is schedule for Tuesday 21st March 2023 which is the only date available and cannot be re-arranged. Attending the site visit is a compulsory requirement for submitting a tender and confirmation of attendance must be provided by Friday 17th March 2023 through the Delta eSourcing Portal.
