Description
The Council is introducing a new household garden waste subscription service. Currently, the garden waste collection service is provided free of charge, but due to budget constraints and the need to generate additional revenue, the decision has been made to implement a chargeable system. Bids are therefore being sought for the provision of a Garden Waste Permit System which will include the printing and distribution of permits to residents. Full details can be found in the invitation to tender document.
Total Quantity or Scope
Erewash Borough Council wishes to appoint a suitable Contractor to provide a Garden Waste Permit System. This will include the production and distribution of garden waste permits for the area of Erewash. The service will be offered to the majority of the 54,000 properties in the Borough, however the level of uptake is unknown. If a 30% take up is achieved within the first year 16,000 properties may require a permit, some households may request multiple permits at the time of subscribing or additional bins throughout the subscription year. Subscriptions may be requested at any time during the subscription year and as such the number of permits requested will vary. The Council does not guarantee a minimum number of permits to be provided during the Contract.
