Description

The Trust is seeking to tender for up to a maximum of 20 block purchase beds within seven Residential Children’s Homes across Sandwell. This will be an incremental process split into two phases, Phase one will include three homes with a total of 10 beds, while phase two has the potential of a further four homes with a max of 10 beds. The successful Bidders shall aim to create sustainable change to reduce long term social and welfare dependency, with the aspiration of equipping Children with the skills to become a self-sustainable adult, for example being able to secure employment, maintain their own tenancy agreement and contribute positively to the local community. The successful Bidders shall work in Partnership with the Child, Stakeholders and the Trust to actively encourage and support the Child’s step down of support from the Provider. 1 Meeting the needs of adolescent young people with contextualized risk factors

Up to three Registered Children’s Homes.All homes exclude education provision. Homes selected will be on a fixed home basis and must be staffed at appropriate staffing levels to meet the needs of the individual young people with a minimum of 2 staff on shift when there are young people in the home. Registered to take same day/emergency placements as well as planned placements. The provision will receive wrap around support from our Horizons service and Intervention Hub with a focus upon risk management and stability for young people to prepare them for a plan of permanence.

2 Children under the age of 12

Up to three Registered Children’s Homes All homes exclude education provision, homes selected will be on a fixed home basis and must be staffed at appropriate staffing levels to meet the needs of the young people with a minimum of 2 staff on shift when there are young people in the home. Registered to take emergency / same day placements as well as planned placements. The admission requirements for this provision will be children that are under the age of 12 at the point of placement who may have encountered significant disruption with placements and/or the trust are unable to secure foster care provision for.

3 Short break care for children where family breakdown is a key feature

Registered Children’s Homes registered up to a maximum of 4 young people only. Excludes education provision. Homes must be for the exclusive use of the Trust unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Trust. The home excludes education provision, homes selected will be on a fixed home basis and must be staffed at appropriate staffing levels to meet the needs of the young people with a minimum of 2 staff on shift when there are young people in the home. Registered to take emergency / same day placements as well as planned placements. This provision will provide care for up to twelve weeks and will form part of an intensive Edge of Care Service focussing upon providing Evidence based interventions which work with the family as a whole to repair relationships and support children and families to remain together
