The aim of the posture and mobility service is to provide a person-centred, efficient, cost-effective service that supports individuals, their families and Carers to achieve improved quality of life and independence through timely provision of the right wheelchair and associated equipment at the right time.

The original procurement put in place a contract period of 5 years with an option to extend by a further 2 years. This VEAT notice is to advise that the contract modification will extend the contract period by a further two years.

Legal Justification

Following a thorough review of the service provided under the existing contract the contracting authority has concluded that the original extension option provided for in the contract will be enacted.
