Description
South Devon College request pricing for the supply, installation and maintenance of a vessel simulation suite including class A and class C hydrodynamic simulators.
Total Quantity or Scope
This is to support our continued expansion following the opening of the new South Devon College Marine Academy at Noss on Dart, Dartmouth. This will be the centrepiece of an advanced marine engineering vessel digital simulation suite. This facility must provide the capability to simulate behaviour of hull designs in an accurately simulated hydrodynamic virtual environment. Effects of modifications on vessel stability are required to be accurately modelled. This facility is also required to serve a dual purpose to permit digital / virtual vessel operation training in preparation for forthcoming large scale offshore energy projects including Celtic Sea FLOW and PortWind. The bridge simulator and navigation simulator workstations are required for the delivery of accredited and custom designed training as well as apprenticeships in a range of curriculum areas including the new Fisher Level 2 apprenticeship standard and Workboat Crew. The system should have the flexibility to extend cap
