Description
20 of TimeTech model TIM-10265-4 six-channel phase comparators, each with four 10 MHz to 100 MHz multipliers installed.
Total Quantity or Scope
Procurement of 20 TimeTech model TIM-10265-4 six-channel phase comparators, each with four 10 MHz to 100 MHz multipliers installed. These are required to measure the phase time differences between clock signals at frequencies of 10 MHz and/or 100 MHz. These instruments should be capable of measuring the signals generated by active hydrogen masers without introducing additional noise.

Legal Justification
NPL are only aware of one commercially available model of phase comparator that meets all technical requirements and is CE-compliant. TimeTech phase comparators were previously procured for a bespoke NPL project. Additional phase comparators are required for the same project. Purchasing the additional phase comparators from a different supplier would result in significant differences in both the hardware configuration and the operational software between different parts of the project. This would result in non-compliance to the requirement for the design of the project to be the same as far as practical.
