Description

NECS will provide specialist pharmaceutical advice to support Public Health South Tees, who is responsible for all contracting, financial and commissioning support to pharmaceutical service providers. The NECS Medicines Optimisation team will continue to deliver the following services to support the Public Health team in the management of these contracts. Commissioned Services and In-House Services:  Pharmaceutical advice regarding the appropriate use of medicines with the development of service specifications, service review of contracts, formulary management and prescribing guidance for the following local commissioned services: o Smoking cessation services o Sexual health services o Substance misuse services o Local influenza and COVID-19 Vaccine programmes o In-house Heath Visitors and School Nurses o Any commissioned or in-house service which the Public Health team would like to commission that is new and not existing, which benefits from specialist clinical advice.
