Description
The programme’s specific area of focus is in providing specialised, targeted programmes for those aged 16-19 who are disengaged, or at greatest risk of disengaging. Learners aged 19-24 are also embraced into the provision if it is found to be the most appropriate option for their identified, individual needs.
Total Quantity or Scope
In line with the Council’s priorities for Health and Wellbeing, we are keen to promote further opportunities for young people who want to engage in sports and fitness as a career option, recognising the benefits of this not only to physical wellbeing but also mental wellbeing. Alongside opportunities within the wider sports and fitness industry, there is a locally-identified demand for sports coaches to work within school and childcare settings in the arena of PE teaching and out-of-hours sports coaching.
