Legal Justification
DWP had intended to commence transition to the new Unified Network Access Service (UNAS) Contract in December 2023, however, estate transition has been delayed due to technical difficulties. The additional services have become necessary since the Contract was entered into, as DWP did not anticipate the changing scope of other internal projects such as the Functional Assessment Service (FAS), nor the delays to the procurement/transition to the new UNAS Contract, during the Contract’s initial procurement. Purchasing these services from a different supplier would cause interoperability and interchangeability issues with existing services and installation as they’re already being provided by BT. To avoid technical issues such as running multiple OEM solutions within one site, and to avoid duplication of costs as at the time of this modification DWP have already sourced the replacement contract for MLOSS, which is UNAS.
