Lot Division
1 | Child Poverty Prevention
The principal purpose of the Child Poverty Prevention Programme (CPPP) is to build on the work currently being undertaken by Newcastle, Northumberland, and North Tyneside local authorities to systematically address the causes of child poverty across the North of Tyne. In consultation with partners, a programme of work comprised of four pillars has been developed: Pillar 1: Funding an innovative programme of poverty interventions in schools across the North of Tyne Pillar 2: Financial support through the school gate Pillar 3: Working with employers to tackle child poverty Pillar 4: The Critical 1,001 days The project addresses the symptoms of child poverty through Pillar 1, supports families directly to assist in building financial resilience through Pillar 2 and works with employers to further address some of the causes of child poverty through Pillar 3. Pillar 4 is focussed on the first critical 1,001 days to mitigate the impact of socio-economic disadvantage on our youngest residents. The North East CA child poverty prevention programme is currently fully-funded through North East CA’s Investment Fund. |
2 | Education Improvement
North East CA’s Education Improvement Programme forms part of our Education, Skills and Inclusion portfolio and exemplifies a commitment to thinking creatively and progressively about the widest implications of an inclusive economy. We are dedicated to giving everyone the opportunity to thrive - to achieve and access good jobs, working with businesses, civil society, and our residents to achieve this. Our current programme of work has 3 objectives: • School Improvement • Support the professional development of our teachers and school leaders • Responding to local priorities |
