Description
Peer Support Workers (PSWs) and Parent Carer Peer Support Workers (PCPSW) in mental health settings, are individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges or have lived experience of supporting a child or young person (CYP) with mental health challenges. Autism Peer Support Workers in mental health settings, are individuals with lived experience of autism or have lived experience of supporting an autistic child or young person. They provide support to people (or their families), receiving care that is built on shared experiences and empathy, while working towards the individual’s recovery journey.
