Description

Soldier Development is the Adventurous Training element of the Basic Training Standard Entry course. It is embedded within the Common Military Syllabus (Future Soldier). The purpose of Soldier Development is to stimulate individual behaviours developing physical and mental robustness of the Recruit which underpin the Army Leadership Code, by exposing them to rigorous outdoor environments infused with controlled risk. The existing contract for the provision of SD is due to expire 31 Mar 25. To maintain uninterrupted training, Soldier Academy Headquarters is seeking a contracted solution to deliver Soldier Development instruction and the associated support at Soldier Development Wings (SDW) Halton and Sennybridge.

Total Quantity or Scope

OUR AIMS – WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE The Customer is looking for one or more Potential Providers to deliver the following aims: To provide qualified instructors for training activities, including Rock Climbing, Kayak/Canoeing, Mountaineering/Trekking, and Caving. Provide Storekeepers responsible for issuing, accounting for, and maintaining clothing and equipment, and Senior Storekeepers managing safety and accountability checks on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Provide an Operations Manager responsible for planning and managing the weekly training programme, overseeing contracted staff resources, ensuring currency and competency of instructional staff, managing fixed contract staff responsibilities, overseeing staff CPD, recruitment, pay, staff reporting, conducting training delivery, and conducting PPE checks/conditioning boards. Provide Training Moderators to deputise for the Operations Manager, conduct training moderations on contractual staff, facilitate staff CPD, deliver training when required, and aid with stores work when necessary. Be responsible for transporting instructors, recruits, and associated equipment to and from each activity location. Ensure that instructors hold a driving licence appropriate to the vehicle they are expected to drive. Contract duration 3 years + 2 option years. This contract will be published via the Defence Sourcing portal in November .
