Description

Network Rail owns the railway infrastructure in England, Scotland and Wales. That’s 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts and the thousands of signals, level crossings and stations. We manage 20 of the country’s largest stations, while all the rest – over 2,500 – are run by the train operating companies.

Total Quantity or Scope

We currently buy Steelwork for electrification specific applications as detailed in UKMS, UKMS 1, UKMS 2, OLEMI and GEF. • Steelwork Foundation - Tubular steel piles • Structural Steelwork - In the form of masts and spans (booms, portals and other structures spanning the track) to which OHLE is attached. • Small part steelwork - Components to enable OHLE equipment to be attached to the structures. • Clips and clamps - Various clips and clamps used to secure items to the structures as well as supporting OHL wire, these are often casted items. • Fixings and fasteners - Electrification specific fixings and fasteners to secure the electrification structures.
