Renewal Options
The framework agreement will have an initial term of 48 months with an option to extend incrementally for up to a total period of 72 months. NHS Supply Chains decision to proceed with a longer term for this particular area has been based on the type of products (cost of development and investment), the devices treatment and the battery life (5 plus years). Having a longer framework agreement ensures visibility the full life of the product and considers the patients pathway or treatment cycle. There is also a real drive to encourage a more sustainable way of working and creating overall savings which we hope to work with the suppliers of this framework to achieve.
