Description

Westminster City Council and The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea will be embarking on the commissioning of a Bi-Borough Mental Health Reablement Service (MHRS) Pilot

Total Quantity or Scope

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea will be embarking on the commissioning of a Bi-Borough Mental Health Reablement Service (MHRS) Pilot from March 2022. The Bi-Borough (Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea) is looking to pilot a personalised recovery-based service, with limited engagement, which prepares service users for independence and enable them to access mainstream services. The service will reduce the need for further input from mental health services, prevent additional admissions and reduce delayed discharges. The service will work with a wide range of people including those who may be experiencing their first encounter with mental health issues, those who may need support with discharge and those who need support to prevent early relapse. Reablement services are not likely to require CQC registration as will do not deliver any personal care. Support interventions will focus on motivating users to build their skills, confidence, and resilience to maximise their independence and autonomy. The Bi Borough is committed to working with the marketplace to maximise the commissioning opportunities to be gained and to understand the current market position.
