Description

Caerphilly County Borough Council ('Caerphilly CBC'), working in conjunction with the Welsh Government and all twenty-two (22) Local Authorities in Wales is seeking to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of corporate and education technology, products and associated services for all local authorities and maintained schools in Wales.

Lot Division

1 Core Infrastructure & Wired/Wireless Networking

This Lot is aimed at local authorities and schools core requirements in order to manage its ICT network and maximise their internet connection accordingly. The products and associated services will include (but not be limited to): Data network cabinets; Switches (Core & Edge); Routers Uninterruptable power supply (UPS); Patch cables (copper & fibre); Wireless LAN controllers & access points together with associated products and services linked to Core Infrastructure & Wired/Wireless Networking, which must include associated product licencing; Servers. The specific technology products and associated services for Core Infrastructure & Wired/Wireless Networking that maybe procured under this DPS cannot be clearly defined at this stage, however full details will be available via the mini competitions and associated documentation.

2 End User Devices

This Lot is aimed at offering a range of devices used throughout local authorities and schools, from learners, teachers devices to lab/IT suite devices. The products and associated services will include (but not be limited to): Windows & Google ‘Cloud’ Device (Convertible & Clamshell options ‘Rich’ Device (Convertible & Clamshell options) ‘Enterprise’ Device (Convertible & Clamshell options) Apple ‘Cloud’ Device (Tablet & Clamshell options) ‘Rich’ (Tablet, Clamshell & Desktop options) ‘Enterprise’ Device (Clamshell & Desktop options). Specific End User Devices that maybe procured under this DPS cannot be clearly defined at this stage, however full details will be available via the mini competitions and associated documentation.

3 Teaching and Learning Tools

Lot 3 Teaching & Learning Tools – A range of peripherals used in the classroom to support teaching and learning. The products and associated services will include (but not be limited to): Device casting; Audio Visual Equipment; Digital Projection; Intelligent Whiteboards; Intelligent TV Screens; Web cams, Headphones and Headsets.

Other Information

Caerphilly CBC anticipate the DPS will evolve as the related change programme progresses and as technology changes. Future Lots under the DPS may include: Device Management, Patch Management and Caching – Core services needed to maximise the efficiency of local authorities and schools internet connections. The products and associated services will include (but not be limited to), Device Management Services and Caching services. Software – Key software and services used by local authorities; teachers and learners. Curriculum Delivery & Support – Services needed by practitioners to utilise and exploit the ICT equipment in the classroom. The procurement is to be processed in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (the Regulations) in line with the Restricted Procedure Regulation 28 and Dynamic Purchasing Systems Regulation 34 and administered via Caerphilly CBC’s e-tendering portal-Proactis Plaza.
