Description

In the first tranche of this Blended Learning Dentistry programmes, the blended learning team will commission training providers/ consortium to develop, create and deliver an innovative accessible 3-year Blended Learning Dental Hygienist degree programme that can be used for the apprenticeships currently in development and where it is deemed the most appropriate route for the students in any given geographical area. The expectation is that this supports the development of a qualitatively different workforce who are digitally capable to deliver 21st century care.

The expectation is that this supports the development of a qualitatively different workforce who are digitally capable to deliver 21st century care.The recommendation is therefore that the contract/s will be offered for a length of 3 years with the potential to extend for a further 2 years (3+2) to ensure the maximum benefit to both NHSE, Training providers/consortium, the student and thus aim to secure the future dental hygienist workforce in the NHS. Robust contract management will review the outputs of the programmes to ensure that high quality, impact and value for money is demonstrated and evidenced for the duration of the contracts.
