Description
Central Bedfordshire Council has identified that there is a need for a specific framework which will deliver a range of Alternative Education Provision services for our most vulnerable learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and instances where such learners are unable to access education settings.
Lot Division
1 | SEND Alternative Education Provision - Lot 1 - Tuition Group and/or one to one Alternative Education Provision in for primary and secondary aged learners (Reception to Y11) in English, Mathematics, Science and other subject specific areas up to A Level and/orPost-16 learners providing support in English, Mathematics and specific A level subjects and/orEnglish as an additional language for learners where English is an additional language (ESOL) and/orKey Stage 2 support for assessment specifically in reading, writing and mathematics and/orAnd additional support for children with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) and/or medical needs pupils unable to attend school long-term due to their illness. Please note that in relation to medical need students, this is to support our Medical Needs service. Although this is an in-house service, this framework element will support ensuring capacity as required, e.g. through fluctuations in demand or reduced capacity through long-term illness. |
2 | SEND Alternative Education Provision - Lot 2 - Mentoring Group and/or one to one Alternative Education Provision sessions to share knowledge and skills and offer advice and guidance to children and young people to assist in the reintegration back into school/college and the transition preparation for adulthood. To work as part of a multi agency team around the child where appropriate. To work as part of a multi-agency team around the child where appropriate liaison with CAMHS to ensure that provision is not being duplicated. |
3 | SEND Alternative Education Provision - Lot 3 - Therapeutic Provisions Group and/or one to one Alternative Education Provision sessions providing emotional well-being support to assist in the regulation of stress, behaviours, feelings, and self-esteem. Emotional well-being based activities will be at the heart of the provision, to encourage positive changes to the child/young person. To work as part of a multi-agency team around the child where appropriate liaison with CAMHS to ensure that provision is not being duplicated. |
4 | SEND Alternative Education Provision - Lot 4 - Physical Activity Group and/or one to one Alternative Education Provision sessions to allow a child/young person to access the opportunity to participate in physical activities such as sports/personal training to encourage mobility and healthy lifestyle. to meet any physical needs as identified in the child’s EHC plan. |
